Applying for a home care package services
To be eligible for a home care services package, you must register with My Aged Care and be referred for an assessment by ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team) who will identify if you are eligible for this program. A representative from ACAT will arrange a face-to-face meeting and assess the type of care you need to live independently at home.
Once eligible and approved, you will receive a home care package that includes either low-level care (Level 1 or 2) or high-level care (Level 3 or 4). This decision will be sent to you in writing, so it’s important that you keep this document as proof of your eligibility for the program. It will also contain the level of care you will receive and an overview of the relevant services that are available.
